Super Mutant Redux - WIP Section
Behemoths and gargoyles of the post-apocalyptic wasteland have made a great impression on the world in regards to video games and modding. The post-apocalyptic world created by game master George simulation expert Steve Wang is quite different from the one depicted in the movie X-Men. In the movie, the X-Men were the last remaining mutant troops left standing after the nuclear war between the United States and Russia. Super Mutant Redux by MadMAX Technologies, however, takes place in an alternate future, after a devastating nuclear strike has devastated the globe.
Created by award winning author George Fan, Super Mutant Redux is the sequel to his acclaimed fan-funded X-Men: Ultimate Collection game which first launched on consoles in 2021. The story of Super Mutant Redux revolves around a group of hardened super mutants who survived the nuclear destruction of their homeland. Inhabited by a group of humans called the Children of the Cathedral, these once ordinary humans are now transformed into powerful and fearsome creatures known as Behemoths. However, they have become enemies of humankind who seek to annihilate this new breed of creatures. The super mutants encountered throughout the game as well as those that can be encountered later are all created from the DNA of humans who have been infected with a viral plague called Chaos.
This game was created by the award winning modding company named zai Studios, who is famous for creating excellent quality mods for various popular games. Super Mutant Redux is the third in the Behemoth's series, following the successful Behemoths: Sovereign and Behemoths: Ultimate. If you love role playing on consoles, I highly recommend that you check out this mod, which is also the prequel to the X-Men movie franchise. It's a very refreshing take on an old classic, and it certainly raises the bar on how video game related mods should be.
